Apex Language Academy ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it and the choices you have. It applies to this website and to the books, courses and practice tests we provide through it.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, your email address and an encrypted password.
- Order details: what you bought, when, the amount and the email you used. Your card details are handled by our payment processor, Stripe, and never reach our server.
- Practice-test progress and scores. These are kept on your device. If you are logged in, they are also saved to your account so you can carry on from another device.
- Messages you send us through the contact form, email or WhatsApp. The chat assistant on this site gives automated answers and does not store or send what you type.
- Free tips sign-ups: your email address, if you ask for study tips after a practice test. We use it only to send those tips. You can stop at any time by replying "stop" or emailing us.
- Technical data that your browser sends when you visit, such as your IP address. Our hosting provider keeps this in standard server logs for security.
- A cookie that keeps you logged in and remembers your cart. The site needs it to work.
- Site statistics through Google Analytics, only if we turn it on and you accept the cookie notice. Nothing loads before you accept.
How we use it
To deliver what you buy, run your account, answer your questions, send receipts and account emails (such as order confirmations and password resets), keep the site secure and meet our legal and accounting duties. We do not sell your information.
Who else sees it
Only the services we need to run the site: Stripe (payments), our hosting and email provider, video hosting providers used to deliver courses, WhatsApp if you message us there, and Google if you accept analytics cookies. They receive only what they need to do their job. Some of them are outside Canada, so your information may be processed in other countries.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and order records while your account is open and for as long as Canadian tax and accounting rules require. Messages you send us are kept as long as needed to help you.
Children
Accounts are for people aged 13 and over. For younger students, a parent or guardian should create and manage the account.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time by emailing info@apexlanguage.ca. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove it except for records we are required to keep.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
